I hate being a grownup.
I want to go to London in September. It's for a stupid reason, but I WANNA. I can't afford it, but I WANNA. I shouldn't be using a free plane ticket for something like this, but I WANNA.

But I won't.

Um, why? ;)

Yes, must talk. Comic Con looks like a bust but still waiting and will let you know.

Why what? ;P

I'm going to up LA tomorrow - what are you doing? Maybe we could hang before or after.

Oh I totally hear ya on that! It sucks being a grown up! I want to go to New Orleans. Being a broke adult blows.

This icon is for them having a concert in LONDON and not here. Then I wouldn't be so annoyed and pouty.

Jared in London... how awesome!

Semi-related, have you seen Lord of War? Jeremy and I watched it again this past weekend and I just love Jared so much!!! Also, he has awesome hair in that movie. Just sayin'.

It WOULD be awesome... the venue looks so cool and it's not huge... less than 5000 people capacity. BUT I CAN'T. Sigh.

No, I honestly haven't seen most of the films he's been in, nor either of the TV shows. I've seen Girl Interrupted, Panic Room and I think Fight Club, but I don't recall him in any of them. Totally didn't make any sort of impact on me. Don't tell him though - I'm a bad, bad fangirl. LOL

Haha! Well, I do recommend My So-Called Life (he sings in it! once...) and Lord of War - which is much more recent. It's also a pretty good movie, Jared notwithstanding. I barely remember him in GI and haven't seen PR which is probably best since... dreadlocks, gah!! Fight Club makes me laugh because he's the bleached blond in it!! But, yeah, I haven't seen a lot of his other movies including Requiem for a Dream so that probably makes me a bad fan too!!

Someone linked me to a couple of bits of MSCL on Youtube, so I watched... and I saw the one where he sings. Ugggghhhh it was NOT pretty. I don't know if he was deliberately not-so-great or not. The fact that he and Shannon are both in the show and Jared sings and plays guitar and Shannon's the drummer in the band cracks my shite UP. Wow guys, great acting there! *thumbs up* They were practicing for the future... yeah, that's it.

I think he picks movie roles at least in part due to how much he can make himself look like someone else. I know he's a total character actor and that's why he does all these scary things to himself, but sheesh. Dreadlocks. Bleach. Yanking his hair out with tweezers. Gaining and losing weight. I fear what he's going to do to look 120 years old in the new movie, I really do.

LOL, awwww, you don't like "Red"?? :-D When I rewatched MSCL a few months ago I saw Shannon and Jeremy and I were like, "OMG!!!" I hadn't noticed him previously. Of course, when I last watch the show (1998???) I didn't know who he was. :-P

He definitely picks unconventional roles where he gets to transform himself. I am worried about him to, I mean, he gave himself gout!!! Of course, he also ran out into the crowd in a concert, got his nose broke, and then ran out into the crowd the next show which was the next night... HE'S CRAZY!!!

*snickers* SO teenage boy to write a song about his car. I never saw the show on TV (it's not my sort of TV show AT ALL, which is part of the reason I'm mostly avoiding watching it, even on youtube)... I think I might've seen Camp Wilder on TV - I saw a bit of that on youtube as well and have a vague recollection, but I'm not certain... not that it actually matters. It's just weird.

He actually denies that his nose was broken in El Paso now, and he says what happened is that he ran into a pole - not that fans hit him. He is absolutely, positively out of his mind - he climbs scaffolding, barricades, crowdsurfs, falls backwards into the pits... you've seen that one vid where someone's grabbing him in the crowd and he hits them with the microphone, haven't you? It's hilarious, but sheesh. I swear, he must be the most hated man by security staff the world over - not to mention his management, record label, and everyone else who have to worry about him ending up hurting himself with one of these stunts. :P

Haha, so true. You know, I might believe the thing about him breaking his nose because, frankly, the next night, it looked perfectly fine - not bruised or anything. Still. CRAZY. And I KNOW security must dread him. He runs up with just them around him. When the two members of Fall Out Boy ran up in the crowd and performed a song they had the security people plus barriers set up in the aisle - so you couldn't actually get right up to them.

I remember when I was first really getting into movies, I didn't pay much attention to actors' names unless they were really well known, so Jared didn't really stand out to me either. And then I kept hearing his name in regards to movies and 30 Seconds to Mars. And I realized after finally seeing them (surprisingly) at Warped last August that, hey, this guy's got a GREAT voice! And then I found out, holy crap, he's in a bunch of movies I've seen! And I actually liked his character in quite a few of them!

So yeah, I started at least watching as many movies with him in it as I could, and I actually like a lot of them just in general (not just for him, I'm not THAT obsessed. ;) Hehe...)

His later movies are definitely better. And I don't think you guy's are bad fans/fangirls. :D I don't like Alexander that much EXCEPT for Jared and Angelina, so...

Hee, yeah, I knew him from MSCL and liked him from that but I didn't rush out and see every movie he was in. If I happened to catch one it was, "Oh, that's Jared Leto." I also knew he had a band but when people started gushing about 30STM I never made the connection. And then I finally heard one of their songs and got a lot more excited/obsessed!

Yeah, Alexander could've been so much better. Alas.

I was mostly being tongue-in-cheek on the 'bad fangirl' thing. ;) I truly don't care what anyone thinks - I'm not a big fan of movies or TV (I just got a TV this week, after not having one since last September, and I truly didn't miss it all that much, and I haven't seen a movie in the theatre for... nearly 2 years?). I'd tell Jared to his face that I care about the music and I can take or leave his acting. If it makes him happy, more power to him.

People have recommended some of his films over others, and if I get the chance, sure, I'll watch. But it's not a high priority. That's why I have mixed feelings about him doing movies - it takes away from 30 recording a new album or touring! But... maybe it helps him to get the creative juices flowing in varying directions? Who knows...
