The great Xmas wrap-up post

First of all, thanks to folk, jiggery_pokery and titanic_days for the cards. I didn't do cards this year and avoided most people's requests for addresses because of that - I feel guilty getting things when I won't be giving in return.

  • All three HP movies on DVD from my aunt and uncle - okay, they tried, but they even included a note saying they knew I might need to exchange them. And so I will, once the stores are a bit less crazy.
  • An electric blanket from my father, which unfortunately arrived brand-new - and NOT WORKING - so it is being returned and I am still cold. Wah.
  • A $25 gift card to Sephora from my brother. What to get, what to get...
  • A bottle of Very Merry Cranberry hand soap from Bath and Body Works and this from my sister, brother-in-law, nieces and nephew. Ahhh, I got a little bit of Sean for Xmas. Not as good as the real thing, but I'll take it. Haven't watched any yet, though.
  • This book by one of my fave authors and this:

from my mom. My mom rules, oh yes, she does. ♥

  • Went shopping and then to see GoF on Xmas Eve with Mom, then met my brother after he got off work (the joys of FedEx at the holidays, poor boy) for Italian. Then I drove Mom back to her boyfriend's house in south the-middle-of-nowhere Illinois and finally home after midnight.

Xmas Day I dragged my butt out of bed way too early, made my brother get up, thanked all the deities I don't believe in that Dunkin Donuts was open so I could get a latte and drove to Milwaukee. The kids were adorable, as per usual, my sister was moderately nice, my brother-in-law was there, and the quorn (soy turkeylike thing) was its usual blandness, though the rest of the food was good. Ah, holiday meals with vegetarians.

I'm in charge at work this week because both the bosses and the one person above me in rank are out; you'd think this would frighten people, but my coworkers are quite happy with it. Go fig. *cracks whip* At least it's fairly quiet.
