Any ideas? Anything?
I have absolutely no idea what to get my dad for Father's Day. All he does is watch TV and play poker and other casino games on his computer. Although - THANK EVERYTHING - he is looking into getting a job. It won't solve everything, but I really think it would be better for him. Anyone have any thoughts on what I could get Mr. Impossible-to-buy-for? Preferably that won't cost a huge amount as I'm almost tapped out, having just bought my plane ticket for TWH.

In other family news, my sister and her family are now living in Wisconsin rather than Illinois. The funny thing is that even though they're in another state they're now closer to where we live. Whether or not we will see more of them I do not know.

I should probably post this to the Surgery Filter, but I don't want to make another post, so deal. That procedure I have to have done is going to happen on June 27th. I already feel wibbly about it and I'm sure that's just going to get worse before then, so... yeah.

I spoke to my boss again today. They're really excited that I'm coming back next week. I'm nervous... not incredibly, but it's going to be weird. And I will have so much to catch up on.

In other exciting news, I will be cleaning the bathtub with my new Clorox BathWand, which, while not nearly as good as an actual magic wand, does make it possible for me to actually clean because I won't have to get on my knees, and that is a kind of magical. I also need to hang a new shower curtain liner - the old one is falling apart (still using my Hogwarts shower curtain, wheeee). And I need to do laundry. You know you wish you were me.
I feel: apatheticthis is not a GIP
I hear: Rach made it for me! <3

I am all excited just thinking about the BathWand. Still doing my tub the old-fashioned way, with sticks of TNT Comet, and hating it.

Having now used it, I can tell you that it's not perfect - it was impossible to get the corners completely clean. But I got the rest of it with it, and considering that's a hell of a lot better than it was...

He'd have absolutely no use for it... but thanks for the suggestion!

Do you think a new shirt and tie would be welcome as something to give him confidence for the interview process or seen as meddling and pushing him into finding employment?

More that it would be pointless... my father was a blue-collar worker and the job he's going for is something related to his former occupation. Basically he needs to go down to the union hall and talk to the right people and then take some sort of test and that's pretty much it. The only times I ever saw my dad in a nice shirt and tie were when he and my mom were going out somewhere very special.

But your suggestion did give me the idea I went with - I got him a polo-type shirt as that's the sort of thing he wears these days. So thanks. :)
