I went out alone - and came back! Woohoo!
It's the little things, really.

I went to Walgreens, the bank, skipped one place because I was starting to feel icky and tired, then stopped at Baskin Robbins (1 scoop of jamoca in a cup) and Wendy's (classic single w/cheese, little bit of mustard). In case you're wondering about the food, the ice cream is to help me take my meds, which is a royal PITA - especially the extremely large and NASTY tasting prenatal vitamins. *shudders* Basically I take the pills with water, iced tea, whatever and then chase them with a spoonful of ice cream. So that one scoop should last weeks. LOL As for the cheeseburger, I've taken the buns off and am eating the hamburger patty in little bits - I may finish half of it. Maybe.

I got a call on my cell while I was in Walgreens (left the phone in the car). I checked it, expecting it to be my mom as she calls every day to check on me, but noooo. Remember this moron?? It was him!! Well, I'd finally had enough, so I wrote down his number and called back, getting his voicemail (which was fine with me). My message went like this: Moron, it's Morri. I'm wondering why you keep calling me, even at 4 in the morning, when I haven't called you back and I emailed you telling you I wasn't interested. Please take this as a clear sign that you should stop calling me. Anyone want to take bets on whether or not he listens this time? I just don't get why he keeps calling. We have NOTHING in common, we've never met, so all I can think is that he's attracted to my lack of interest. -.-!

Also... HAPPY BIRTHDAY slytherincesss!!! I hope you're having a great day! <3

Congratulations! This is great news! It must feel great to get out and about.

Rest well tonight. You have absolutely earned it. :-*

Actually my tummy decided it didn't like hamburger so I've spent most of the evening feeling quite ill. :( Just had some soup... hopefully that will help. *sigh* I wish this would get a bit easier... *clings*

I know that it will. My mom has a friend who went through exactly the same thing a couple of months back, and wow, I see her around everywhere, and she looks so healthy and so happy -- you hang in there. [clings back]

Where are you going to get shish taouk from? I still think that will go down better. You know, something without sauce.

I used to live in Chicago, zillions of moons ago. I've eaten shish taouk in more than once place.

I actually live in the northwest suburbs - there's a place just down the road that I intend to try. The place I usually go is closer to work, which isn't so convienent right now.

And actually they recommend using sauces and such - anything that makes meat more moist.

I just meant, you know, sauces with less blockage potential. That were more clear. But I don't know! I'm glad they gave you some guidelines.

Do you work near home, or do you have to go downtown?

I lived in Rogers Park for a little while and then in Hyde Park. Not my dream neighborhood...

Heh. No, sauces really aren't a problem. One of the easiest things for me to eat is fairly thick cheddar broccoli soup!

I work in Evanston and live in Hoffman Estates - I've got a little less than 4 more weeks off and it doesn't seem like enough. People keep telling me I'm going to feel better... I just wish it would.

I actually lived in Rogers Park for a while - I went to Loyola for undergrad. And I spent a few days in the Hyde Park area at a certain hospital recently...

So how much food can you eat now? I read that after 3/4 bites people get full! It must be a real pain dealing with it. How are the stitches and such recovery going?
Vicki: Kate by Sophiehermorrine on May 29th, 2005 06:34 pm (UTC)
I'm really not sure - I don't measure it. I'm supposed to eat about 1/4 - 1/2 cup per meal, but I'm not eating nearly that much.

The stitches are no big deal - they seem fine. The only thing directly related to the surgery that bothers me is that I really can't lie on either side yet, only my back.
