For another 2 months, anyway. *breathes* Work today was almost painless, actually - really quite scary.

In other scary news, I seem to have a date next week. o_O *breathes* It's going to be ...interesting. It's a guy, and he's older than I am, which is not something I've done for a long while, but considering my last few involvements... let's just say I can be taught. However, there's a part of me going: But... but... the younger ones are just so CUTE! *pouts* Ah well... that doesn't mean I have to forget the 18-year-old with the tongue ring... Hmmm. We shall see, I suppose. So yes, estrella_bonita, I DID call. :P *mutters* ;)

I haven't said much about the devestation down south, but that is not because I don't care. It's because I'm overwhelmed. My mom was lucky - she was out of power for 3 days and a tree fell on her car (when she wasn't in it). One of my colleagues, who is field-based, lives (lived?) in Gulfport, MS, and luckily she and her family got out safely. Her home and possessions... so far, unknown. My company is doing a donation drive and is matching donations, and they've marked off a certain percentage that will go to that colleague, and yes, I am donating. I wish I could do more, but the next few months are a bit expensive. A local radio station did a drive and ask people to bring clothes, non-perishable food, etc because they'd gotten a trucking company to donate 2 18-wheelers to drive down there. So many people showed up with donations that they filled up SIX 18-wheelers and then had to turn people away. So I'm telling you some good things because I think they need to be said. And because I'm too much of a coward to be able to deal with the horror anymore.

Lastly, I was struck by the fact that the song "Whiskey for My Men, Beer for My Horses" is really Madame Maxime's song.
