SNL HP Skit
I won't spoil, and yes, I've taped it for you, zorac. I just have to say that there must be at least one fan on the SNL staff because they had their canon down a lot better than I would've expected. And yes, I did laugh.

Hey Morri, are you going to be around today? Got a question for you.

I have to run out and do errands, but I should be back and around by 3 CST - look for me on YM between 3-6, I should be around.

Canon? What canon? Fandom mocking, yes, but I didn't think they were poking fun at canon. All things considered, they had to have at least one person digging through ff.net for inspiration.

I would disagree - they definitely used canon. And I didn't say they were poking fun at canon, just that they used it well. They used terms that I wouldn't have expected they'd know - butterbeer, for example. That is what I meant by canon knowledge. The skit itself was like a fanfic, which probably amused me even more than most people, for obvious reasons.

Oh, sorry. I interpreted it as canon-mocking, not actually knowing canon very well.

This skit came on the heels of my English class deriding Lindsey Lohan's breasts, which added a rather unique aspect to my viewing of it.
