And now...shameless plugs!
I hardly ever do this, so I figure I get to do it occasionally without getting spanked too hard.

First of all, please visit nocturne_alley. We've got the most unruffled Harry, the most snarky Snape, the most engorged enraged Draco, the most oblivious Ron, the cutest Ginny, the slimiest Lucius, the most paranoid Hufflepuffs, the wittiest Ravenclaws...I wish I could list all the characters but I'm running out of adjectives. Everyone there is brilliant and I should really take my toys and go home, I am so lame comparatively. At least my other character remains a great unknown.

I declared it some time ago, but I still firmly believe that Jason Carter would be PERFECT for Sirius. And I am not the only one who believes, for a campaign has begun!

The Jason Carter for Sirius Black Campaign Website
If you also agree that Jason is the only possibility for Sirius, the site lists who you can write with addresses and all that. It does require actual PAPER (shock, horror!), but isn't it worth the effort and a stamp?

In other news, I need to find out how long the HP Vanity Fair will be on the shelves. Even if the pics aren't quite as wonderous as last year's edition.

Nope, sorry. My Sirius recommendation is Rufus Sewell.

:D
Vicki: Me and my stickhermorrine on September 7th, 2002 02:32 pm (UTC)
Ahh yes, he of A Knight's Tale fame. Well, I believe I will have to respectfully agree to disagree on this one. I could see him doing a good job, but I still prefer Jason for the role. :D

*laugh* Not entirely, I don't think. I think it's more that I'm more familiar with Jason's work and I've seen him be good and bad, look good and run-ragged. And I love Jason. I am prejudiced, I admit it. I want to see him doing something more than CAR COMMERCIALS.

Oui, Oui!!
Squeee! Yes, I have agreed with this idea for some time. Jason Carter is the only Sirius!!

And can I gloat? I've met the man. He spent the night at our house a few years back. He mocked by "Titanic" obsession at the time (even gave me a card) and also mocked Cliff Richard playing "Heathcliff" in the musical ("Perfect. A gay Heathcliff"). But he was very, very cool.

Re: Oui, Oui!!
I am so jealous!!! How did he happen to be at your house?? OOoooh....it's most likely good he didn't spend the night at mine, as I would not be able to keep out of his bedroom. Am naughty like that. >.< And I understand he has a family. So, it's prolly a good thing. *grin*

I hope he will be cast as Sirius! I think he'd be brilliant!

Re: Oui, Oui!!
My sister (& myself and my mom) met this guy, Brian, at a Star Trek convention in London some years back and he sort of befriended my sis in that he would give us heads up about fandom things, share news, memorabilia etc. He is married and has a daughter and stuff, but they sort of became Star Trek, Babylon 5, etc. pen pals. In fact, it was thanks to him that we began watching The X-Files!

Long story-short: We moved back to Texas after 3 years in London and then in 1998(?) there was going to be a B5 convention in Dallas - and Brian was one of the organizers, while Jason Carter was the big guest! So, as these things are always done as cheaply as possible, Brian asked if we could house Mr. Carter for a night. Obviously, we agreed and it was quite a surreal experience!! I kept thinkong "he slept in that (guest)bed, he used that shower, he was here, he was here!!" It was also... akward in a way because I was so nervous and shy that he was there, but he was very cool. My sister has pics somewhere... but before he left he gave us all autographs, took pics and we got hugs!! *beams* Since my room was covered wall to wall in Leo-R+J-Titanic posters at the time - mostly Titanic - he gave me this greeting card he had bought for a friend because the image was a dog walking away from a shipwreck. Inside he inscribed it, "Leonardo's dog walks off the picture. He wasn't nominated." Then it has his little signature. It is very cool and gave us all a laugh.

I think it was when I began reading the Draco Trilogy that it suddenly clicked - my mental image of Sirius was JASON CARTER! He fits so perfectly. I think he would be a wonderful choice and am all for writing people and te

Is the Vanity Fair issue out already? I missed last year's AND this year's Entertainment Weekly. *resolved* Must find this year's!
Vicki: Me and my stickhermorrine on September 7th, 2002 08:46 pm (UTC)
I am not entirely certain, but the pics are out, and the Leaky Cauldron mentions people actually HAVING the issue, so I think yes. Jenny would surely know, wouldn't she? I haven't talked to either of you in ages! :(
furious george: more black and whiteweatherby on September 7th, 2002 08:57 pm (UTC)
That's why I wasn't sure if it was out. The pictures came out a month or so before the issue came out last year, I think.

I haven't talked to anyone in ages :( My ISP turned off so I have to rely on my neighbour's cable to get online, which is creepy to say the least. So every time I get online I have to go about my business and stay off messengers or I'll end up online forever and I have to leave my apartment door open to do it and wahhh.
Vicki: Well....hermorrine on September 7th, 2002 09:15 pm (UTC)
Well, I am going to go to the bookstore on Monday, so I can let you know then for certain if someone doesn't tell us before then.

And that sucks!!! I am still stuck on my mom's computer, which neither of us is happy about. Mine is all set up, but for some reason - the hub, perhaps? - my computer will not find the internet. It is most annoying. But not as annoying as sharing with your neighbor. :(

I'm not certain what you're referring to being a member of, but if I'm already part of it, I'm queer, so... you won't be token. But you can still be queer! :D

I'm slimy? Hmph. I was trying to go for "sinisterily snarky" but it seems I've missed the mark.

It's not easy being evil.
Vicki: Well....hermorrine on September 10th, 2002 04:40 pm (UTC)
Eeeeeek! No! I just ran out of adjectives and I had already used snarky for Snape! Alliteration and all that. *wrings hands* I think your Lucius is great!
