Digital cameras?
Can anyone recommend a good but not terribly expensive digital camera? I think I'm going to want to document the next year or so, as someone pointed out. I really can't spend a lot, but hopefully some of you will have ideas.

Also, I just saw the real Alison DuBois on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I honestly didn't realize that Medium was based on a real person! She seems very down to earth and I have to admit, I'm tempted to get her book. But you guys recced me loads of books already! Thanks for those - obviously you picked well as some of you recommended books I'd already read! And then there were the ones recced numerous times - I imagine that means I'll have to get those. Thanks again - I appreciate it. I'm going to put in an Amazon order after I get paid, I think.

I think I'm okay, really. I've got 2 1/2 more days of work to clean things up, paperwork turned in, mentoring of people taking over my stuff going on - all going according to schedule. There are some things I haven't finished and I don't know if I will, but maybe tomorrow won't be so crazy (nearly 3 hours of meetings today on corporate privacy and security and then a different one on software development roadmaps - head. hurts.). I have a bunch of shopping to do this weekend, and then it'll just be a countdown to getting this whole thing over with - I wish it already was, but you can't have everything.

when it comes to digital cameras, the main thing you want to look at is megapixels. get a 2 at the absolute minimum. 3 should be a decent price. sony and canon are good brands. try overstock.com, and actually walgreens has a decent polaroid digital camera for not too much ($70something)

I was just looking into this. :) There are some decent Kodak options at around $100 with 2 megapixels, I think Canon has a good one also for around $130. If you can spend more you will get more megapixels and optical as well as digital zoom. Try to check them out in person because some brands have very complicated user menus, the Sony models looked way too complicated for me and I consider myself good with electronics.

I got a really cheap one for £10 from ebay (that's about $20) -it's small, with no screen to check out what you've shot, but it does its thang pretty well. :D
