Question for the Brits
What the heck is a knickerbocker glory? Does anyone know? Am I supposed to know? Someone please tell me - I'm picking at things as I read HPPS for the zillionth time.

I am currently finishing up my lunch hour t00bing about on LJ. The job is going well - still rather nerveracking as I have all these tests and presentations to do and SO much to learn, but I like it here and I think I'm getting it more and more each day. I'm getting to know my team members more, too, and hearing all the gossip. *laughs* There have been a few verrrry interesting stories.

New Smallville tonight - yay for lovely boy-boy luuuurve, even if they won't just come out and admit it.

What Item of Harry's Clothing Are You?

You are Harry's Scarf! You coil around his neck like a Python and ward off the wind. You've been used to hide lovebites and to tie people to the head of a bed. Kinky.

I feel: busybusy

Knickerbocker glory? Where in heaven's name is that in PS? I must have the page number, if only to point out to my Aussie chaplain - maybe he will know. But then again it doesn't sound like something I can talk to a pastor about. :P

Yay for your new job! I knew it would work out. I'm very glad for you. *licks and fondles* Muah!

I have the softcover US version and the hardcover UK version, so I can't tell you an exact page, but it's the 2nd chapter. It's mentioned when Harry describes eating at the zoo's restaurant and getting to finish Dudley's knickerbocker glory because Dudley threw a fit about it not having enough whipped cream, so Vernon orders him another and gives the first to Harry. But I got an answer so it's all good. Thanks tho! *snogs and snuggles*

A knickerbocker glory is an icecream sundae. It normally has fresh fruit in the bottom of the glass, and lots of whipped cream and a cherry on top, and all sorts of things, But you can pretend you're being virtuous because of the fruit. *g*

Re:
An absolute tragedy. However, I am a very sacrificing person, so I am willing to dispose of the ice cream in an environmentally friendly way, so that the fruit may be enjoyed by others.

I will quite happily race you to the nearest place that might sell knickerbocker glories at this time of night and proceed to eat the ice cream before you. But I'll leave you the fruit. :P

*laughs* Thanks to both of you. I feel much better now that I know.

Re:
After Eight ice cream? You officially would have no chance, regardless of how much running you had or had not done in the day.

I suddenly feel the need to go and visit Oxford. To visit the university, obviously. Not for any ice cream purposes.

Re:
You so would not win. I would beat you up, and take away your lunch money. (There's a good ice cream shop in Devon too, near Heddon's Mouth. The best ice cream ever. Rum'n'raisin.)

As for the lack of free time, don't I just know it. Whoever told me it was a good idea to work a seven day week was lying.

I don't live in the south west, I was merely pointing out the good ice cream shop. Although, having said that, you're probably still closer to Oxford than I am.

It's obviously a tough life being at uni. With all the ice cream, and the sleep, and everything. ;)

Life is obviously very difficult for you, and you have my utmost sympathy. Along with a healthy dose of sarcasm. ;)

It's like sympathy, but less fluffy. :P

Hmm. Ok then, but only a little bit, or I'll ruin my image.
