Stuff that's been going on for the past week or so
I figure if I don't go ahead and do this, it will never get done. So in lovely bulleted form, here is what's been going on:

  • Bestest friend Y came over and saw new place then we went out to lunch and she gave me my belated birthday gift - two books off my Amazon Wish List! It was so great so see her and the gift was a total surprise.
  • Got to see my mom briefly when she came to see her new grandtwins, so I got Mommy!hugs, and there are really nothing like those, no matter how old you get.
  • Bought plane ticket for trip to England at New Year's, which is exciting and happymaking and a bit nerveracking as it may well be my turn to Meet the Parents.
  • Spent a good portion of the weekend going through boxes and boxes of stuff, throwing out quite a bit and putting other stuff in storage. Still not done, but at least you can see the floor in the "dining room" now.
  • Bought 100% cotton 230-thread count sheets which were on sale, plus had a coupon for 20% off. Sure, it's hardly 600-count Egyptian cotton, but hey, it's a start. Will try them out this weekend.
  • Looking forward to this weekend LIKE WOAH. :>!
  • Welcome new friend morethanbefore, I look forward to getting to know you better. :D
  • Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is my new fave show. I got into it late because of not having a TV to watch until the move, but now I'm totally into it! (see icon) And there is a marathon of eps this Friday! I'm making my brother set the VCR up for it since I've missed so many shows.
  • And finally, I really need to buy more long trousers - it's definitely getting to be fall here.

  • Wasn't that exciting?

    QE junkies....
Queer Eye is SUCH a great show! I was hooked from the first episode. Nothing makes me rush home from crew or the gym like QE. Carson is such a riot. The ongoing dialog of their observances of the clueless men they are trying to makeover is hysterically side-splitting. Everyone I've recommended it to has become hooked. I am glad to hear you are on board now too....it's great water-cooler fodder -"did you see the hooker girlfriends boots? can you believe that guy's gross apartment?" etc....I love it.

I love and adore Queer Eye. Lori and I have yet to miss an episode. She's a Thom fan, I'm a Kyan fan.

As for cleaning, pitching, storing....I've always said purging is good for the soul. :-) And there's nothing like moving that gets that pitching urge flowing.

I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond the other day to buy some really nice sheets but once I saw that the "really nice sheets" were almost $80 (for a full size bed) I thought I'd go ahead and stick to my cheapies for now. Gotta find a great sale one day for those things!

I absolutely adore Queer Eye. It is one of the best shows ever. I laugh so hard through each episode I'm nearly crying. And tonights? *dies* As for the needing trousers- may I just say "indeed". It was rather cold here last week and I had no appropriate clothes. Stupid St. Louis weather. Grr.

BTW, I'm Merin. *waves* Have recently added you to my flist and wanted to introduce myself. :)
