Yeeeeehaaaaaa!!!!
Okay, I have no idea why I put that in the title. I just couldn't think of anything particularly clever, because I am verrrry tired. I didn't sleep at all last night, and then my mom came and woke me up early and practically gave me a heart attack because she thought I had to be at work earlier than I did! I know she was trying to be helpful, but sheesh.

Okay, so basically I was worrying over next-to-nothing. Not nothing, but it turned out better than expected. I won't bore you with all the details of my day, but suffice it to say that this seems to be a GREAT company to work for and the benefits are even better than I realized.

My medical insurance doesn't start 30 days from today - it starts the first day of the next month of my employment. So yes, October 1st. :D!!! This does mean seeing doctors, and I do detest most of them, but at least I can get the knee properly looked at and all my meds, etc etc. They also pay towards a monthly health club membership, so yes, I think I might look into that. I think someone like a trainer, who knows what they're doing, might be just what I need to help regain my strength.

My coworkers seem really nice - there are 4 other guys and one girl plus me (and our supervisor) in the software support team. They all seem to have decent senses of humor and they took me out to lunch at a cool Cajun place that was quite yummy.

They've told me they are putting me on an "accelerated" training program, but I say bring it on. After 7 months of not working, I am ready to do it. I know it will be overwhelming at times, but they have a really good training schedule set up, so I think this will work. I am feeling quite happy and optimistic, even with the fact that I have a 2 HOUR commute each way daily. That is the only really sucky thing. But once I get my backlog of bills paid off, I will be looking to move - 3 or 4 months, I'm thinking. I can't wait!

Overall, I was quite pleased and relieved about today, and I played upbeat music all the way home.

Oh, that's so exciting! I'm so glad things are working out.

I *highly* recommend the gym... even for nothing else than a hot tub, if they've got one. Using the hot tub at my gym, along with some of the stretch machines, has cut down on my backaches exponentially.

*bounces* I'm *SO GLAD* the job is looking to be nice. Nice people, too! Health insurance! Whee!

*happy hugs*
*snogs, too, for the hell of it*

Ooooh, snogs! ;)

And thanks - things are good so far. I need to start looking into health clubs next week, see where I can get the best deal for what I want and need. Then... making myself go! That's the really hard part.

Re:
mmm, for me too. i use the hot tub at the end as my incentive... "do an hour of exercise, then you get to go pamper yourself for a bit." Also helpful is that i'm in an all-women gym, so it's less stressful in terms of less of a competitive atmosphere.
